EventScotland
is delighted to support the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival which this
year sees the exciting conclusion of the Moray Firth Flotilla as part of
Highland 2007, The Year of Highland Culture. This event showcases some of
Scotland’s most stunning coastlines and scenery and we hope everyone
involved enjoys the sail and associated celebrations.
The 2007 Festival is
supported through EventScotland’s Regional Events Programme, our programme
of regional events is an important element of our work to increase
domestic tourism across Scotland and supports our long-term strategy to
sustain Scotland’s image as an events destination worldwide.

Our
media sponsor The Press and Journal has been reporting on maritime events
– everything from the sinking of the Titanic to the latest round of
Scottish fishing boat decommissioning - for more than 250 years. It is
Britain’s oldest daily newspaper, the country’s largest regional morning
newspaper, and the world’s third-oldest English-language newspaper -
dating back to 1746. It is currently the biggest-selling broadsheet in
Scotland. The paper covers a huge area, including the Scottish coastline
and coastal communities from Oban and the Western Isles, to the Northern
Isles, Moray and the north-east of Scotland
