The Salmon Bothy is a new venue for the Festival and is destined to be its permanent home. (It is just beyond the new harbour on the way to the caravan site).

Restoration work begins in January and was expected to be finished in time for the Festival. As it happens the Bothy programme will now be in a marquee in the grounds of the Bothy.

The Rt Hon Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland will be officially opening the Bothy on Saturday Morning at 11.00am

During the Festival the Bothy Programme will include:

	Story telling from both Molly Muddle
	The Inimitable GAST fouk (Grampian Association of Story Tellers) will be replaced by Gaorsach Rapper and Step more ...
	A multimedia play by Christine Middelton from Australia (her mother was from Portsoy)
	Local Drama Group ‘Acting Up’ will offer a fun filled and interactive story based on an ancient Myth from Japan called ‘World without Sun’ ... more
	An exhibition of the work of locally based artists ... more
	Prize-winning and internationally published poet Stuart B Campbell, who lives in Portsoy, will read from his latest poetry collection and discuss his writing. " highly original work from a writer who is himself one of our most distinctive and original voices" - Poetry Scotland ...more
