Skipping has really taken off in Portsoy! SkipSensation is
a new group of Rope Skippers formed this year in Portsoy and they’re
making their performance debut at the 2008 Festival.
The group currently has 10 members between the ages of 11 and 14, and
their routines for the Festival, set to a quirky selection of Scottish
music, are all devised by the girls themselves.
The group wishes to pay special tribute to Silvanna Matheson who
originally trained them all and lit a spark of enthusiasm for the sport
which continues undimmed.
SkipSensation is a member of the British Rope Skipping Association and
of Aberdeenshire Sports Council.
