Fabulous Feeding

The Festival's reputation for providing all that is best in  Scottish food will continue to grow in 2009 both at the Food Fayre and via the wide range of high quality caterers who will be  around the whole area of the festival.

The Food Fayre, sponsored by Downies of Whitehills will feature regular recipe demonstrations and a wide range of exhibitors (see below)

Allathan Dairy: home made cheese and butter

Downies of Whitehills: fine fish

Glenglassaugh Distillery

After remaining silent for 22 years, Glenglassaugh Distillery has reopened and is once again producing its renowned spirit.

We are giving you the opportunity to savour our 21yo, 30yo and 40yo Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, our Spirit Drink and a New Product to celebrate the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival 2009.

Tours of Glenglassaugh Distillery will be held at 10am on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July, lasting approximately 2 hours. The visit will include an in-depth, behind the scenes tour with the Distillery Manager, finishing off with a nosing and tasting of our New Spirit, and 21yo and 30yo Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies.

The cost is £25 per person and tours are limited to groups of 10. Transport to and from the distillery to Portsoy is included.

Rose Cottage Country Kitchen: preserves and honey

Rose Cottage Country Kitchen produces an award winning range of home made preserves and puddings. Hand made in small batches, the kitchen uses traditional recipes with no artificial preservatives or cheap fillers. Rose Cottage sources all its ingredients locally; indeed some come from its own garden. Organic fruit is used wherever possible.
